FREE but limited car Parking and bicycle storage is available at Elvaston Cricket Club on a first come, first served basis, but please note the access road will close at 9:45am sharp. Additional car parking is available in the ‘Pay and Display’ Elvaston Castle public car park.

The organisers will make every effort to accommodate runners with disabilities. However, some parts of the course have an uneven surface. A runner with a disability requiring special arrangements must notify the organisers at least 48 hours before the race so that reasonable steps can be taken to ensure your safety. 

Yes. we offer £2 discount for all runners affiliated to a running club or a member of Peak running (AKA Jog derbyshire). Please state which club you are a member of when you purchase your entry.

The main 5-mile event will start at 10am sharp so all runners must collect their numbers between 9am and 9:45am latest. The family fun run will then start at 10:05am whilst the main race is in motion.

Runners may not be accompanied by dogs on leads.

Yes – there will be very limited toilets at the Race village (Elvaston Cricket club) and we do recommend using the toilets at either Elvaston Castle car park or in the Castle courtyard.

We do have changing facilities (although limited) at Elvaston Cricket Club Pavilion on the day.

Yes, this year you can leave your bag  at our baggage tent using your race number as a reference. Please note just one bag/item per person please.

Yes, there are water stations at the half-way point (Gallop turn) on the 5 mile route and at the end of the course for both 2 mile and 5m runners.

Yes, we offer light refreshments, breakfast cobs and a fully licensed bar for all runners and spectators.

The event will have First Aid cover managed by St. Johns Ambulance.

Yes please! we always require all the help we can get on our baggage tent, marshal points or at the race village. Please email us at info@goldengatesgallop.org and we will get back to you.

A risk assessment of the course has been undertaken and reasonable measures taken to mitigate any risks. The organisers point out that the course is, in places, uneven and that the run is taking place along paths used by members of the public. Runners are requested to take such measures necessary to protect their own health and safety and to protect the Health and Safety of other users of the course. In the event of an incident, please contact a course marshal. Marshalling points are shown on the map of the route. If a dispute arises over a result or course etc. the race referee will make determination whose decision shall be final and binding. If you are competing you will be classed as medically fit to run and fully understand you enter the event at you own risk and to the extent permitted by the law the organisers will not be held responsible for any injury or illness incurred during, or as a result of the event.
